# MultiLevelList

A hierarchical list where item’s can have sub-items, and those have sub-items to four levels

## Methods

#### **buildFromItems**(self, items: _List\[[MultiLevelListItem](/python-api/docs/multilevellistitem#multilevellistitem)\]_, allowSelect: _bool_)

Builds the widget hierarchy from data items  
**Parameters**:

-   items: the items to display in the list
-   allowSelect: whether items can be selected

#### **collapseAll**(self)

Collapses the widget hierarchy so only the top level is displayed

#### **expandAll**(self)

Expands the widget hierarchy so all levels are displayed

#### **getTextColorForItemType**(self, itemLevel: _int_) -> _[Colour](/python-api/docs/colour#colour)_

Gets the colour a specific item type should be displayed in

**Returns** the colour

#### **initialise**(self)

Initialises the list view
